When preparing for a wedding, it is very easy to forget about rest (which is not worth doing at all). Wedding magazine, taking care of its readers, has prepared a selection of books for every occasion for brides – from literature about organizing and conducting a wedding to romantic stories with a happy ending.
1. «Vera Wang On Weddings» (Vera Wang)
The famous designer of wedding dresses not only talked about fashion and wedding outfits, but also shared her bride’s stories, secrets in wedding planning, and how to avoid undue stress in preparation.
2. «Shopaholic Ties the Knot» (Sophie Kinsella)
Remember that show-show Rebecca Bloomwood by Isla Fisher? It was a series of books by Sophie Kinsella. And one of them is Rebecca getting married. Of course, with adventure and a happy ending.
3. Vogue Weddings
The book of the cult magazine contains all the wedding photos that appeared on the pages of the magazine in its centuries-old history. Famous designers, luxury dresses, celebrity weddings (among them even the Grace Kelly and Kate Middleton ceremonies) and not only on the pages of a book written by wedding designer Vega Wong and fashion critic Hamish Bowles.
4. «The Wedding» (Nicholas Sparks)
The book continues the story of the heroes from Sparks’ novel «Memory Diary». The film featured a stunning film starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. By the title of the book, you can guess where it all came from in the end.
5. «Pride and Prejudice» (Jane Austen)
Legendary Classic. The best romantic story (with a happy ending) to relax and dive into the world of balls, lush dresses, gentlemen and their ladies.
6. «The Summer Wedding» (Jade Beer)
Nobody knows as much about weddings as Brides Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Jade Beer. Jade has now released her own book «The Summer Wedding». In it, she recounts how three girls – Dolly, Jesse, and Emily – were preparing for their wedding in the British village of Cotswolds in the summer.
7. Vintage Weddings: One Hundred Years of Bridal Fashion and Style
Stylebook is not just for those who want to create a wedding in retrograde. The book contains dresses that illustrate the development of wedding fashion over the last century. Great inspiration for a perfect wedding dress.
8. «A History of the Wife» (Marilyn Yalom)
Marilyn Yalam considers the history of marriage «from a woman’s point of view». The heroines of this book are wives of ancient Greek and ancient Roman, Catholic and Protestant, wives of the conquest of the Front and World War II. There are stories of women who have suffered from the cruelty of society and their husbands, of those for whom marriage has become a desirable happiness, and of those who have successfully fought injustice. This history of the wife comes to an end in an era in which a marriage that has ceased to be a duty undergoes major changes. Marilyn Yalom is a historian at the Institute of Gender Studies, Michelle Clayman, Stanford.
9. «The Italian Wedding» (Nicky Pellegrino)
An elderly married couple – an Italian husband and an English wife – carefully hide from their adult daughters the long-standing family history that once changed their lives dramatically. The eldest of the girls gradually gets out from the mother, what happened 30 years ago, and suddenly realizes that she and her sister knew nothing about their parents.
10. «The 5 love languages» (Gary D. Chapman)
You try to show your husband that you love him and he doesn’t notice anything. Maybe you just speak different languages? Maybe your husband wants you to feel sorry for him, and you’re making a nice dinner instead. Perhaps your wife would like to spend more time with you, and she doesn’t need the luxury bouquets you give every night. At the end of the book you will find a discussion guide to help you better understand what you read. Before you know it, you will learn to understand another’s language, to love another language, and you will soon feel loved.
